FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Introducing Festicrawl: A New Music Festival Pub Crawl in San Francisco

San Francisco, CA – (August 17, 2024) Get ready for a brand-new way to experience live music and your favorite local bars with Festicrawl, the latest event from the CrawlSF team. Set to take place on Saturday, August 24, Festicrawl is more than just a pub crawl, it’s a music festival that brings the best local bands and DJs directly to the bars of San Francisco.

This exciting event, inspired by the energy of 6th Street during SXSW and the vibe of the Noisepop Festival, will feature over 15 bands and DJs playing across participating venues, including Mayes Oyster House, McTeague’s, El Lopo, Route 101, Lush Lounge, R Bar, Wreck Room, Decodance, and Music City SF.

Attendees can kick off their crawl at Mayes Oyster House, where check-in will start the day of the event. Each bar on the crawl will have drink specials, and you can take part in fun activities like the “Find the Gnome” contest, plus grab some free glitter and temporary tattoos at Lush Lounge.

Festicrawl isn’t just about having a great time—it’s also about supporting the local community. Many bars and restaurants are still bouncing back from the challenges of 2020, and events like this are a chance to give them a boost. CrawlSF Owner, Matt Seliga, envisions Festicrawl as an annual tradition that grows every year, bringing in more bands, more bars, and even an outdoor component in the future.

With top-notch local acts like Spooky Mansion, ¿Qiensave?, Tino Drima, Bolero!, Indianna Hale, Plovver, The Carrots, John Courage, Nate Porter, Gopal Slavonic + Tachíria Flamenco, Donovan Plant, Tracy Jones, and more, plus DJs like DJ Yo Celly and CDCM, Festicrawl is shaping up to be a can’t-miss event for anyone who loves music and a good time.

Join us on August 24 for what promises to be an unforgettable day of music, drinks, and fun. Check out the event microsite for more details: Festicrawl.com.

ABOUT CRAWLSF

CrawlSF was formed in 2003 by Matt Seliga, a transplant from Pennsylvania, who had just moved to San Francisco for a biotech job. To help meet new people and earn some extra money, he wanted to re-create a concept that he had experienced on the East Coast. Matt organized the first pub crawl on Union Street and spent nights and weekends talking to people, handing out printed cards with event details and contacting bars to get them involved. After a successful first event, CrawlSF expanded to neighborhoods all across the city and began building a loyal following of pub crawlers from all over the Bay. In addition to pub crawls, CrawlSF has also produced New Year’s Eve events, theme parties, concerts, food events and a 2-day music festival. The company has been going strong for 19 years and in that time has produced over 200 events in San Francisco with an estimated 240,000 attendees. Despite the growth of the company and the huge number of attendees at each event, CrawlSF doesn’t have any employees. The entire business is run from start to finish by just Matt and his fiance Caitlin, expect for event staff and security hired for each event.

ABOUT MATT SELIGA

Although he always had interest in being an entrepreneur, Matt attended college with a Pre-Medicine Major. After school, he took a job Johns Hopkins Center for Inherited Disease Research as a DNA Analyst, while preparing to take the MCAT’s and start the grueling Medical School application procedure. However, after receiving a job offer at Applied Biosystems in Foster City (an offer too good to pass up), he put his Medical School dreams on hold and moved from Baltimore to San Francisco in early 2003. After a few months living in SF, Matt started working on the CrawlSF concept, After launch, he spent every waking hour going to bars, attending events and talking to everyone about his upcoming events. After a few slow years, the business started to take off and has continued to this day. Matt stayed in the biotech while the company was building, but eventually left it behind in 2008 when he began to work on his own projects full-time. Aside from CrawlSF, Matt is the co-founder of M Ride (transportation company), Eye Heart SF (Event Production Company) and the venture-funded Pinchit.com (daily deals startup).
